Week 13 of the fantasy season is usually the final week. You are either playing out the string or prepping for the playoffs. Either way, let’s get you ready with week 13 Start Em n sit Em!
Start Em
Quarterback
Derek Carr. There is a reason that Derek Carr is in the MVP talk. He has played well all season and Sunday should be no different. He is averaging 22 FPPG against non-division opponents. His opponent this week, the Buffalo Bills have given up 21 FPPG over the last 4 weeks to QBs.
Running Back
Doug Martin. Martin has been slow in his return from a hamstring injury. This could be a big week against a Chargers defense that struggles against a good running game. They are giving up the 6th most FPPG to RBs and have allowed 15 TDs.
Wide Receiver
DeAndre Hopkins. In fantasy terms, Hopkins has been a bust. That is not his fault. The $80 million man has not performed. I would still keep Hops active this week against the Packers who average 29 FPPG to WRs and have also given up 7 TDs.
Tight End
Jimmy Graham. Graham has been cold in recent weeks. But this week I expect him to hat up against the Panthers. The Panthers are very friendly to TEs. Carolina gives up the 3rd most fantasy points to TEs, 12 FPPG.
Kicker
Brandon McMannus. McMannus has scored no fewer than 9 pts per game since week 7. He has been one of the best fantasy kickers on the season. That should continue against the Jaguars. They have averaged 11 FPPG over the last 4 weeks to Ks.
Defense
Denver Broncos. The Broncos have not been a very strong defense over the last 4 weeks. Only scoring 17 combined points. However, a matchup against the Jaguars should fix that. The opposing defense has scored an average of 11 FPPG which is the worst in the NFL.
Sit Em
Quarterback
Andy Dalton. He sure does miss AJ Green. Last week in the first game without him, Dalton only post 13 FP. This week against the Eagles defense that has been inconsistent at best, Dalton could have more troubles. Sit Dalton.
Running Back
Rob Kelley. Kelley is now the Redskins featured back. He has shut the door on the RB position in Washington. This week he has tough matchup against a Cardinals defense that has only allowed an average of 7 FPPG to the position at home. They have also not surrendered a TD.
Wide Receiver
Jarvis Landry. The Dolphins offense has been on fire as of late. There is nothing better to spoil that than a game against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite the Dolphins being hot, Landry has not and that will continue this week. Unless you are in dire need of a WR, keep Landry on your bench.
Tight End
Lance Kendricks. Kendricks was a solid play last week going for 12 FP. As we suggested last week with Jared Cook, do not go pint chasing. Kendricks has a bad matchup against the Patriots defense. The Patriots have only given up 6 FPPG and 2 TDs on the season.
Kicker
Dustin Hopkins. Hopkins is the 3rd highest fantasy scoring kicker. That makes him a hard sit. The Cardinals have only given up 6 or fewer points in 4 of the last 5 weeks. Even with the scoring abilities of the Redskins and Hopkins I would try and temper the expectations.
Defense
Minnesota Vikings. Yes, the Vikings have the highest-scoring defense in the league. However, all that happened in the first 5 games. A matchup against the Dallas Cowboys this week is not good. The Cowboys are only giving up 2 FPPG to opposing defenses.
The time has come. If you are playoff team or playing out the last weeks the end is near. Stay focused.
