Week 8 Fantasy Football Start'em/Sit'em

Week 8 in the National Football League marks the half way point. Some teams are contenders and some are pretenders. You may say the same for your fantasy team. Are you a contender or a pretender? Let’s get you ready for week 8 with your Start Em and Sit Em.

Start Em

Quarterback

Jameis Winston. Winston is playing a Raiders defense that has been very friendly to opposing QBs. They have given up 13 TD passes and are averaging 19 FPPG to the position. They have also surrendered four 20 point games this season.

Running Back

LeGarrett Blount. I like Blount this week because the Bills defense seems to be struggling against the run. Last week Jay Ajayi steamrolled the Bills and even though New England has Tom Brady I still could see Blount with a steady dose of action.

Wide Receiver

Ty Montgomery. It I time to start playing this guy every week. He has seen an increase in snaps. He can run the ball and is becoming a solid target for Aaron Rodgers. He makes a solid option at WR or flex.

Tight End

Vernon Davis. Davis is a comfort for Kirk Cousins, just as Jordan Reed is. Davis is showing that he still has some gas left in the tank. He is probably still available in most leagues and would be a good one week flyer this week.

Kicker

Josh Lambo. He is the second ranked kicker in the league. He has 10 or more points in 4 out of his last 5 games. He also scored 13 points 2 weeks ago against the Broncos. They play Denver again this week. He I kicking at altitude. Start em if you got em.

Defense.

Tennessee Titans. Even though they have been inconsistent on defense they lay Jacksonville this week. Blake Bortles has taken a huge step back to the point that people are wondering if he really is the answer. This makes the Titans a solid read.

Sit Em

Quarterback

Blake Bortles. He is just not progressing like he should be. He had bad games against the Raiders and Bears. 2 defenses that he should have thrived against. The Titans are much better. Bench Bortles.

Running Back

Ryan Mathews. The Dallas Cowboys have given up only 2 rushing TDs all season. He may be ok between the 20s but may not score. Have other option ready.

Wide Receivers.

Jeremy Maclin. He has been such a disappointment in fantasy this season. He has averaged fewer than 8 points in all but one game this season. You would think he has a good matchup this week. But given his recent level of play I would stay away.

Tight Ends

Jason Witten. Philadelphia is exceptional against the tight end this season. They average giving up only 3.5 FPPG to the position. This is a good week to keep Witten on the bench.

Kicker

Graham Gano. Last season, Gano was a fantasy stud. This season he is far from one. He has failed to score more than 7 points in his last 4 games. They play Arizona this week who is only giving up an ave of 5 FPPG.

Defense

Houston Texans. I got to see first-hand what the Lions offense is about last week. The loss of JJ Watt has hurt this defense. They have a combined 6 FP in their last 3 games. They are becoming a fantasy nightmare.

I hope that your fantasy season is continuing on the up and up. If you need to reach me for any other questions throughout the week you may do so at the following; Twitter - @BossHog2821, Email – ratpackfantasyguru@gmail.com, FB Messenger – Sean Naylor.
